Caseflow Management Conference for Judges, Court Administrators, and Clerk of Courts August 5-7, 2025 in Kosrae

 
Course Description

The program is designed to strengthen judicial case management, ensuring fair and effective justice delivery while promoting professional and personal well-being.
 

  • Day 1 - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

    Focuses on the foundational aspects of case management. After registration and introductions, participants engage in an icebreaker to foster collaboration. The day unfolds with discussions on the importance of case management in judicial efficiency, emphasizing the judge’s role in setting the tone and ensuring smooth proceedings. Practical sessions explore case flow management, early case assessment, discovery management, and effective motions practice, helping judges identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and resolve disputes efficiently.

  • Day 2 – Wednesday, August 6, 2025

    Transitions to advanced techniques, beginning with trial management strategies and an exploration of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods. Ethical considerations take center stage, as judges learn to balance efficiency and fairness while maintaining independence. The afternoon delves into managing difficult cases and courtroom dynamics, including strategies for handling challenging litigants and attorneys. The day concludes with a session on judicial wellness, ensuring that judges maintain their well- being amid the pressures of case management.

  • Day 3 - Thursday, August 7, 2025

    Dedicated to practical application, allowing judges to engage with case management technology to enhance efficiency. Interactive case simulations provide hands-on experience, enabling participants to practice real-world decision-making and receive feedback. These exercises reinforce key concepts and promote skill-building to apply learned strategies in their courtrooms.
